CPEC – Railway Line Route Map Between Pakistan and China
Islamabad (Sunday, December 20, 2015) – Government of Pakistan under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is working to lay an new railway track between China and Pakistan. The proposed route will pass through Giligit Balistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan. This will be shortest route for the China to reach Gwader Port.
This historical and mega project is part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The railway line will travel from Quetta and Jacobabad.
560 KM track will be laid from Bostan to Kotla Jam on Main Line-II via Zhob and Dera Islamil Khan. While 682 KM of track will be laid from Havelian to Khunjrab pass.
Up-gradation of Existing Railway Tracks
Upgradation of 1872 Kilometers of Railway Track from Karachi to Peshawar via Kotri, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi (including Taxila-Havelian). While dualization of track from Lahore to Peshawar will also be carried out.
1254 KM of Railway Track from Kotri to Attock City via Dadu, Larkana, Jacobabad, DG Khan, Bhakkar, Kundian will also be upgraded.
