Gilgit-Skardu Proposed Expressway Route Map

Gilgit (Tuesday, November 24, 2015) – Today Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif visited Giligit-Balistan. He participated in the oath taking ceremony of new appointed Governor of GB Mir Ghazanfar Ali.  He announced that the express way road will be constructed between Gilgit Skardu. At present the journey between two important cities of Gilgit Baltistan (Skardu & Gilgit) is very uncomfortable and time consumable. From Jaglot to Skardu it is almost 170 kilometers long road with lot of zigzag. Nawaz Sharif told that almost 50 Billions will be spent on the construction of this expressway. It will pass through Sassi, Shengus, Talu, Stak and kachura. It will start near Jaglot on Karakorum Highway. It will meet with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) near Jaglot.

Deosai Plans and Shangrilla Lake (Resorts) are located around the Skardu city and it has lot of worth seeing places nearby. Thus this mega road project will uplift tourism activities for Balistan region’s peoples.
