PMLN Won 18 Seats, PTI Won Only 9 Seats – Unofficial Results Announced

Islamabad (Saturday, January 16, 2016) – Today polling the the special reserved seats of local government / Islamabad Metropolitan corporation is being held today. There are 50 votes, who will give vote to elect 27 new chairman.  Election for one Mayor and three deputy Mayors is expected in last week of current month (January).

Polling for election for local body were held on November 30, 2015. Contest in special seats are being witnessed between Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI). There are 62 candidates contesting for.

Detail Distribution of 27 special seats are as follows:-

Total Reserved/Special Seats = 27 PML-N Wins 18 Seats, PTI wins 9 Seats

Women seats = 17 (PMLN-11, PTI-6)

Peasants (Kisan) / Workers = 3 (PMLN-2, PTI-1)

Youth Seats =3 (PMLN-2, PTI-1)

Non-Muslim / Minorities seats =3 (PMLN-2, PTI-1)

Seat for technocrat = 1 Won by PMLN Sheikh Ansar
