Nawaz Sharif Will Lay Foundation Stone of Lahore-Multan Motorway on Dec 19, 2015
Lahore (Wednesday, December 16, 2015) – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will hold ground Breaking of Karachi-Lahore Motorway (KLM) Section of Lahore-Multan Motorway. At Lahore side this will start from Shuraq Pur Road near Lahore.
This section will start from Lahore and will travel through Nankana Sahab, Samundari, Pirmahal, Dharkhana near Abdul Hakeem and then it will attach with Khanewal-Multan Motorway at Shamkot interchange.
The length of Lahore Abdul Hakeem Moroway is almost 241 Kilometers. While 54 KM Abdul Hakeem-Khanewal Motorway will be added also.
This mega project will connect Karachi and the Gwadar port with China through China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC). This is part od eastern alignment of CPEC highway. While Western and Central CPEC Routes are also being constructed.
Central CPEC Corridor will connect DG Khan, Rajanpur, Mianwali and Layyah with China and Gwader.
M-5 Motorway also known as “Karachi-Lahore Motorway (KLM)“, is a high-speed, access-controlled, 6-lane motorway that extends for 1,152 km. It is currently under construction in Pakistan.The motorway will facilitate commutes between Karachi and other cities including Sukkur, Mutlan, Hyderabad, Khanewal, Badin, Ghotki, Rohri, Dadu, Pano Aqil, Abro, Rahim yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Zahir Pir, Jalalpur Pirwala, Samundri, Abdul Hakim, Pir Mahal, Mamo Kajan and Nankana Sahib. It will be a separate, newly built road, not to be confused with the N-5 highway.
