Writ Petition of Private Hajj Operators in Sindh High Court and Supreme Court
Earlier in Sindh High Court on April 16, the petition has been rejected filed by private Hajj operators against Hajj Policy 2016.
Now they move in Supreme court.
On Thursday, April 28, 2016, Supreme Court of Pakistan sought concise statement from the federation regarding reducing quota of private Hajj tour operators in the Hajj Policy 2016.
Deputy Attorney General Sohail Mehmood informed the court that the balloting for Hajj would be held on Friday (29-4-2016). Acting Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, heading a three-judge bench, which heard private Hajj operators’ appeals against the Sindh High Court’s judgment, said the ministry could hold balloting but it would be subject to the final decision of the case.
Thus now new date of Balloting will be announced after judgement by Supreme Court which is likely to be announced on Monday, May 02, 2016.
